Steve Marinak Jr

Steve Marinak Jr, Chairman Emeritus

Steve Marinak Jr. began his career with IBM in 1961 as Systems Engineer-Scientific. From ’62 through 65 he worked on Systems engineering assignments which encompassed the following industries: Manufacturing, Retail/Wholesale and Distribution as well as Public Sector assignments.

In this era, IBM bundled the machinery with men (SE’s). “We would build systems and applications from scratch for our customer set. Programming languages were in their infancy, pre-built application packages were few. We would create the solution with the customer input, write the applicable programs, document and train the customer to use the entire IBM solution.”

In 1968 Steve moved to Florida to work for IBM as a salesman handling the Pratt and Whitney Aerospace account as well as a general territory. “My manufacturing background was very useful there. I used my skills acquired in similar accounts in Dayton, Ohio as an SE to work with a variety of end users here in the Palm Beaches. I really enjoyed this variety of problem solving experience. It was great fun to work on many different business problems and solutions. Much of this effort was aided by very competent systems engineers and customer engineers. We worked as a team for great results.”

In 1987 Steve retired from IBM as a Senior Salesman, with 17 100% Clubs, as well as 7 Golden Circle (clubs).  He now holds a perpetual advisory position as Chairman Emeritus with Midrange Support & Service, Inc.
